Hello friends, clients, and colleagues! Happy Autumn and blessed (belated!) Full Moon in Taurus.

Of course gratitude is on the mind for us all right now, but all year I have been meditating on gratitude for everything I have lost and gained through these chaotic times. This practice and your participation in it are at the top of the list, and I offer thanks to every single one of you for your support.
ON THE WEB
You may have already noticed that since my last newsletter I have changed my business name and updated my website URL. I am In My Hands Massage & Bodywork and you may find booking links, a fresh menu, blog posts and more at https://inmyhandsmassage.com. My latest blog post is all about Abdominal Therapy and the next will be musings on why I include breath work in each of my sessions.
If you want to help me out and share your experience of my work, please head over to my Google Listing to leave me a review. Word of mouth is one of the best ways to draw in new clients, and with an online review you are reaching that many more people. Thank you in advance.
IN THE COMMUNITY
We are wrapping up the Fall semester of the Student Massage Clinic at Ivy Tech and with that, sending a handful of graduating Massage Therapists into the wild. It's a delightful thing to see! Looking forward to Spring, if you are interested in being a part of the training experience for our "freshman" class of massage students, look out for space on our schedule starting January 27th. We will be doing morning sessions and your contribution of $20 per session goes toward supporting the program through equipment and materials.
My yoga practice has also been evolving and as many of you know it is a deep compliment to my massage practice. My favorite places to practice right now are Ekah Yoga and the new Bloomington Yoga Collective. Check them out!
ON THE PANDEMIC
For now my policies on mask wearing remain the same. I serve all clients regardless of COVID vaccination status and require mask wearing for all through the duration of our time together, with exception for when bodies are prone (face down) in the face cradle. I encourage all of my clients to do what is best for them in these times and continue with my sanitation and air filtration practices. I will continue to wear my mask during sessions for the foreseeable future because I like the barrier it provides, keeping my breath out of the client space. I am of the mind that this virus is not going anywhere and that we must learn to live with it as best we can. Soon that will mean my perspective on masks for clients will become less conservative, and that will likely coincide with county-wide guidance. In the meantime, let us continue to stay healthy, happy, and kind with one another.
ON THE MENU
You will see on the Book page of the website that I have presented a menu detailing my offerings, including additions of Abdominal Therapy and standalone Reiki sessions. As always you are invited to ask questions if what you see is not clear to you.
IN MY HANDS
Learning Abdominal Therapy has been a long and wonderful journey. I am witnessing my own growth and change with wide, joyful eyes and looking forward to sharing this work with more of you. In the spirit of being a lifelong learner I have recently hired Melissa Larimer through her mentorship offering. Our first meeting already gave me so much to chew on and build from, and I look forward to cultivating an even more grounded foundation from which to offer everything I want to give to our community, and to you. Thank you again for following along.
With love and gratitude,
Kara
